It was 60 nm from Onset and not really much off the rhumb line to IofS. You were right, you may as well push through the canal, once in Gloucester(unless the tide is off your schedule, which it was, but I had no hurry with Iof S only 20nm to go). Gave me time to explore Goucester the next morning. The canal was fun and opened up some other spots I'd like to check out, in the future. It was the long way home for sure. You need time then.

If I were younger and living in that area, it would be a good place to settle.
