We finally settled on not using the filler on our vee berth. It's much easier to get in and out, space to move around in the cabin, and it's easier to make singles. But our vee is wide at the head so each single is big.

With that fitted, zipped bag, you could roll it up or roll it out, much easier. If you'll be living aboard, why not.
