The Squire guitar company was purchased by Fender and makes cheap versions of Stratocasters by Fender under the Fender Squire name. The guitar is a really cheap version but it was new and I sent Dick photos to get some documentation as I wasn't sure if it was a phoney signature I had bid on. He sent me a letter of authenticity also saying he remembers signing the guitar. Perhaps I watch too much Pawn Stars asking for documentation from him.

We used to go to a dinner event to support the 'Ocean Institute' but the food is so poor this year we decided to just go to the auction instead and get something. I danced to 'Dick Dale and the Del Tones' on Saturday nights in the summer of 1962 and out of nostalgia bid and won it.

Guess I'm just an old longboard surfer remembering his youth.
