I posted re water catching and filters earlier. Water was an important subject as we had no watermaker but large tankage. When outfitting our vessel for cruising we went with a very simple philosophy regarding systems, 'redundancy and simplicity'. HMMM? doesn't sound logical but it works.
For anyone interested in adding a simple and inexpensive filter to they're boat this worked fine never giving us any illness, always with great tasting water and we took on water in some interesting places.
A simple Culligan style under sink filter housing with a .2 sub-micron (.9 absolute) Doulton filter. Total about $120.00
Here's a good article on the subject of filters with links to products. http://kissurvival.com/water-part-4/
