Ben Ellison posted our problem on his forums. He's no experience with our problem but maybe someone on his site has. An email from him---

"I've not used a Glo myself but have used several Bluetooth GPS's with different model iPads, mostly no problem.

The way the iPad is designed, which is nice, it really shouldn't matter what app is running. If the iPad sees the GPS and the GPS has a valid position, then every mapping and charting app should have access to it."
