But unfortunately, I don't know what causes the freeze up. I had it happen a couple of times this past few weeks with heavy use. I 'tracked' every day. Simply because that's the easiest way to keep the ipad from going to sleep(without going into settings).
The fix; Go into PRIVACY in- settings- on the ipad(not the Garmin settings).
Touch LOCATION SERVICES
Top line LOCATION SERVICES slide OFF.
Hold the Ipad button on the rim down until Power Off? slider appears. Slide off. (This is a restart)
Hold the button down until it powers up.
Go back in settings-PRIVACY-LOCATION SERVICES- slide ON.
I know it's a pain in the neck but that's the cure. I don't think it's caused by the GLO, I suspect it has either to with internet use(which we did a bit of) or more likely, the Tracking which may use up too much memory and freeze the Ipad 2(mine is stock memory).
I didn't have it happen enough to simply try turning Location services off, soley, but that may do it. I think I tried re-booting alone and that didn't work.
I've fallen into a comfortable system with the ipad and CP in the companionway. The CP is usually set quite close-high detail. That's my 'minder' always course UP, giving me consistent chart data and hazards for steering. The ipad is then used for tacking angles, course options, tons of stuff I couldn't do before, easily. Odd no one else is having this problem,...
Maybe you can figure it out for both of us, from here.
