I have to agree on iOS7.

My jab was really a call back to the original iPhone. You remember when no one knew how to build a proper smart phone? I invite you to compare the original iPhone with the contemporary products from Samsung, Motorola, etc. Every phone now looks much more like the iPhone, than anything did then. However originality takes balls, and now that Jobs is dead I don't think there are any on the Apple executive staff. The iOS 7 UI is too much just a high powered designer trying (desperately) to make a "statement". Like the really ugly buildings you see from architects trying to make a "statement". On the other hand iOS 7 does have significant changes under the covers.

Now, Google is an interesting topic. It used to be a benevolent giant. About a year ago or so, they turned evil. Discovered the dark side. I know this from my own interaction with them, also from industry insiders that deal with them all the time. I use their search engine (keeping in mind that the placement of nearly everything on the results page has to do with money paid to Google), and I use their map program (although they more or less ruined the mobile version). I try not to touch anything else they do. It's either very badly executed, or a poorly disguised piece of spyware, or a blatant advertisement, or all three.
