I'll always have a big affinity for the Luhrs name, my family's first ever 'Big Boat' was a 22' Luhrs Sea Skiff, old Henry was one of the legendary New Jersey lapstrake boatbuilders back in the day... Silverton, the company that Warren first purchased, was originally located right across the small bay from where I live, and for many years I did a lot of deliveries for Ocean Yachts, a now-defunct builder of sportfishermen founded by his brother John...

Most only know of Warren as the founder of Hunter, and overlook what a remarkable sailor he was... Herb puts it all into beautiful perspective:
