() … to the rig, and why did the rigging fail ? I find it hard to believe the cockpit and the Ditch Bag weren't armed with a fully charged and waterproof handheld VHF. We can charge ours both by the Inverter, and with a couple DC receptacles with the radio adaptors. We also carry alkaline battery packs & trays for each VHF. And an emergency antenna for the NAV VHF unit. Not sure why the concern about the cell phone being charged, mine stops working 5 or 6 miles off the coast. Cheers, John
