Have any of you tried the North Channel to South Riding Rocks exit to south Florida?

() We aren't going there yet, but would like to visit the southern Florida keys before quitting for the season. Though Bimini looks like the well worn path, but puts you 30 miles further up the gulf stream from Key West. Explorer shows minimum soundings of 3 meters on this route.
