I follow it in housing and sadly, cutting edge green tech is still mostly for the wealthy. No surprise, it's the same for sailing. But sailing 'green' tech is way behind. Unlike green housing design, we're building boats requiring more energy to run with little thought beyond bigger fossil fuel driven power generation.

I still believe the sailing industry continually misses a marketing opportunity that is right in their lap,...sailing is green!!! But if you need to haul a tank of diesel to run a generator/alternator while you sail around the world in 150 days, what's the use in sailing anyway around the world, anyway?

The industry needs new tech for energy conservation and generation. We'll all benefit from that and it's high time the tech caught up to the rest of society.

Morgans record will fall, once somebody else with the means and desire really wants to set the new one.
