why not... it isn't a syncronous motor, nor anything that relies on frequency.

it isn't a transformer, nor does it have any sort of oscillator in it... it is just a large heat coil, that draws some amps at some voltage to produce X watts of heat. I really don't think anything about it is frequency dependent... it really is nothing more than a big resistor.
