A shout out to MaineSail

I hope this post doesn't cross a forbidden line, but I want to give a world of credit to RC and his "How To" articles. Just this morning, while looking for something else I stumbled across RC's advice not to place SS washers under a battery lug, and by 5 PM today I had removed SS washers that were under a couple lugs on my batteries. Earlier today a friend asked my advice on solar panels and I pointed him to RC's excellent article on flexible Solbian panels Velcro'ed on top of a bimini, and my friend was very much interested in the concept.

Looking back on this past winter I've re-oriented my batteries athwartship so the plates are better covered when heeled; used the FTZ crimper and lugs to make excellent battery cables; made extensive use of Butyl rubber tape for deck hardware; used a dremel bit for removing balsa to seal a hole for a deck fitting; used my P-touch labeler all over the place, especially on electrical wiring and terminals; installed the new style battery fusing; and a bunch of other things I'm forgetting. This advice has been provided in a clear manner, for free, and has been invaluable to me making my boat safer and my equipment more reliable. RC's website is also current and up-to-date, unlike books that I've had for years which are great for the basics but don't incorporate the latest advances in technology and available products.

I've never met RC and have no relationship of any sort, but I have made so much use of his website that it's only fair to give credit where credit is due and hope that others know of the resource and support it if appropriate.
