Seems just a few years ago, strolling high above the old broken Marlon Brando-esq waterfront, that this would never change.
Last weekend, we joined the 'locals' enjoying their new public waterside park and grounds. Looking through several soccer fields right on the water, you gaze across NY harbor to proud Lady Liberty, her torch held high.
Today, this waterfront is for the people.
And they came out in droves to enjoy the summer like weather. Everybody arrives on foot, NYC walks. Joggers, walkers and bikers move along the waterfront promenade past picnic tables and barbeque grills, green playgrounds, all free for public use.
The parks run along the east river and it seems that Manhattan is just a stones throw away. Soon a new beach or two will open, public water access through rental kayaks, the Brooklyn waterfront is on a public roll.
Change is in the air in Brooklyn, new public parks, healthy food on the street(roasted brussel sprouts-yumm!), it's a blast!
