180 boats and five weeks

According to our club bylaws we have 5 weeks dedicated to launching in the spring with the drop dead date of the Sunday before Memorial day. As of today we are two weekends into the five weekend time schedule and have 3 of the 180 boats in the water. I am roughly 3 weeks behind in my prep work and the forecast is calling for lower than normal temps and rain for the next seven days.

The thing is, we do not have any hired help at the club. With the intention of keeping the club affordable for regular people, membership requires that each person puts in a minimum of 20 hours per year working at the club. That means that we launch and haul our boats, usually on the weekends. The season is in full swing when we do the Memorial Day ceremony which involves the members, USCG, the local tall ship Niagara, blessing of the boats and a lot of polished brass buttons on blazers. All the boats need to be out of the parking lots and in the water. The next three weeks are going to be "interesting".
