It included stuff like (if the weather was bad) to tell them as captain the vessel is my responsibility and ask if the Unite States Coast Guard takes full responsibility for any damage cause by boarding in these seas? Also to speak with the captain on the VHF to discuss the reason for the boarding. (all in a very respectful way)

I've always found the CG very friendly when boarded. The last time I asked them if I could continue while we were boarded and was told I could. We continued on at 5 knots while the cutter and inflatable continued nearby.
