Cruising Sailors Forum Archive

3 men walked below with that tell tale-facial complexion; hunter orange and rust. "Are you sailors?" I asked. "Oui",

, the answer. They had just sailed in from France on a Hinckley SW 42. An uneventful, comfortable trip, "We saw 25 knots, once." They'll take the boat down south, I think the Chesapeake(hard to hear from the staging above, and my failing ears ) The owner (the one doing most of the talking) will return to cruise the east coast in a few months.

They had not heard about missing crew from GB. I filled them in and they were all ears. "How much wind?", typical questions. We hear the disasters but rarely from the Atlantic traffic out there. Nice guys, made my day.

I love living on a harbor. If you're patient, the world comes to you every now and then.

I didn't have my camera but this is where I work and watch the sidewalk. It's all I have for Wednesday. Anybody else?
