I'm leery of the French. Most of us outfit our boats then go cruising. French seem to go first, then outfit.
I've not had warm feelings from the French that I've met while cruising. They seem to leave a mess for someone else to clean up.
Just one opinion..

  - So, I sailed into one of the French Islands
    - Sounds like the USVIs!!!
      - I spent pretty much all of three years in the USVI
      - Sounds like anywhere tourists flock. You can get dissed in Maine.
        
        There wasn't much of a "flock" in this place.
