The palpable tension in the cockpits of racing boats of all sizes, the echoing boom of cannons and shotguns on your bay or harbor. Sailing was mostly racing way back in the 60's when I first remember sailing as crew or alone on small boats. We gunkholed when we weren't racing. Even NY Harbor had it's sailing culture.
This photojournalism piece captures an emotion on the water that I've never lost(I bet I'm not alone). Sailing is timeless.
