I have a West/Zodiac Compact RIB 310. Pretty much every time I row it, however gently I row, I seem to bend the undersized oar lock shaft. I bought spare machine screws to replace the shaft as a jury rig, but once the surrounding plastic gets broken you have to replace the oar lock. They're about $40 apiece, which you wouldn't mind paying if there was any quality and strength put into the design, but there isn't. This must be a common issue with these boats, unless I'm the only fool who actually rows them occasionally (grin). Once in awhile it's simpler to row than put the outboard on, and as my wife points out it could be a safety issue if your outboard dies.
If there is a better retrofit or replacement out there I'd love to know it.
