We went out at Dana Point in 35 knots with old people aboard.

I invited a few 'very veteran' sailors aboard for a day sail out of Dana. 6 showed up and they were all at least 70. We weren't sure if we should go out but TD was 50 feet and handles 35 with no problems so we reefed down and left waving at the harbor patrol vessel on the way out. They were use to watching us going out in weather like that as we liked the practice and the Admiral and I went out in weather like that a number of times.

JEEZ! 6 geriatric adults in the cockpit holding on like a vice to the stainless supports (these were very veteran sailors). I couldn't get them to move and had to climb around them to go anywhere. I'd rather have kids aboard as I could throw them below but these guys were completely in the way and were unable to even grab a line as they wouldn't let go of they're security supports.

Needless to say, we did a reach out and then back in a half hour later.
