You should be able to move your CE forward, or aft, but I've never found a very dramatic difference in simple draft adjusting tools with a mainsail. My boats a yawl and the mizzen just gets sheeted flat when I'm pinched up as high as the boat will go. It's in air flow from the main so it adds nothing. The bronze centerboard is easy to track on the screw lifting gear.
I did set the sail for light air, meaning little luff tension(I have a downhaul tackle on the gooseneck slide). However, I'm not sure about foot tension yet, having used the sail very little. I may have in fact had too little draft in the main for the light air.
At any rate, once I cracked off onto a reach, weather helm returned-if a little lighter with the new sail, which is a good thing.
