() I think the latest 18" Raymarine dome is 4KW, don't make a 2KW anymore? That would be the RD418HD high definition? Or the RD418D digital non high definition?
I ask because I would like to know how much improvement you saw over the older technology. While my old 2KW non-digital does give useful information at times, it isn't the see-in-the-dark tool that I think of when I think radar. Images are fuzzy, sometimes no return at all from a substantial fishing boat, rain clutter and ofter sea clutter can obliterate the information. I intend to change up to the HD dome, main complication being a new cable has to be pulled up the mizzen mast. Was the improvement you saw marginal, significant, substantial?
