With our very low aspect long footed main even when reefed we had unmanagable weather helm when there was no headsail. Probably part of it was all the hull windage. We found the best combo on our TD was a double reefed main and about 6 feet of headsail. .

Sent an email to Bernie thanking him for his uncomfortable statement to me that I should just sell the boat with no emotion and get out, a difficult thing to do with no emotion after 12 years and so much of myself into her. He was right, now that she's gone and the new owner got a tremendous deal I have a clear conscience. It did hurt selling her below value but sold is sold and I've moved on feeling good about his advise.
