That photo is of Zacko's boat. Below is ours, sorry, at dock. Have not had the chance for a chase boat at the right time to get it rushing us along. We also have an asymmetrical, but rarely ever fly it! I wish I had not spent the $$$. And, Ed said he was ONLY flying his for that photo. It was a photo day sail....
We used it in the Sea to cross during low wind conditions. It kept us moving even when other boats were stopped dead, or running the iron jenny. It helped Ed cross the Pacific a LOT faster (day wise) than other boats in his area!!
It's low cost and stores in a very small light bag. Down side is that if the wind comes up, it's got to come down! Ed has a sock on his that he likes. I took our sock off as I did not like it bunched up at the top of the mast. I am in the process of adding some small plastic hanks on the luff and running a small like from the upper swivel down to the bottom to use as a down-haul. I THINK I will like that better? If not, I can always put the sock back on.
By the way, Jill loves purple...
