My mother was in a wheelchair but still came to visit us in the Virgin Islands. She couldn't walk so we had to get her into the water with a block & tackle off the boom. I made a chair hooked up to the vang and pushed the boom over the water. She got in and out of the water that way, every day, for 2 weeks. Getting her up and down the companionway was another block & tackle system on a genoa track and slides lift. She was a big woman and I could have dropped her but she trusted me. A guess a mother should trust her son.
Not bad for a wheelchair stuck octogenarian. She's gone now but it was a hell of a cruise.
This was in Cane Garden Bay, anchored off Stanley's during the music festival. The only spot you could anchor in the bay as it's filled with moorings,,, but,,, they missed a spot.
