I see a lot of familiar names.

I haven't been on here in quite awhile. Although the number of posts are down, its good to see the familiar names that are sticking around.

I'm out of boating. My wife and I, somehow, wound up buying an old 46' trawler. I got it running, dumped half of my bank account in outfitting it, and we took off south, leaving Stamford CT in September of 2011, headed up the Hudson to Albany NY, and then spent the next couple of years wandering south, finishing up in Green Cove Springs, just south of Jacksonville. Yep, it was the trip of a lifetime, something I'm really glad I did.

We bought ten acres of land in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY in a tiny town named Bleecker (halfway between Bleeck and Bleeckest). We had a few acres cleared to build on, had it bulldozed and leveled, and spent most of the last year digging a foundation. In granite. I was cutting down trees, when a "leaner" shook loose from off to my left, smacking me square on the head, breaking my neck. The doctors said it was a miracle that I was alive. I thought everything had healed up nicely and then, at the end of May, my right arm stopped working. I had surgery in July, fusing five vertebrae together. Recovery, if there will be one, is very, very slow.

So to beat that old drum that we've all read on here ad naseum, don't wait. Drift Away has been sold and I'm pretty much out of boating. Maybe a pontoon boat.
