It was still doing regular hours last week. A co-operative of some sort the islanders own, it has fine fresh foods. Some of the best fish to be had.
Blue Hill also has a very good co-op with fresh foods.
The closest we got to Southwest Harbor was a fast sail downwind from Somesville. I was just able to keep the buoys to port off SW, without jibing.
We held that starboard tack from a borrowed mooring in Somesville all the way to the Bass Harbor Bar. We were lucky with wind and weather(and current-with us both ways through Western Way-that's rare for us).
