Fall is the time to break things. Its a well known fact that fall winds are denser than warmer summer breezes and the cool air somehow lends itself to put stain on items that worked well all summer, they suddenly giving way. So it was this weekend with a snap shackle at the end of a 15 year old jib and spinnaker halyard. The pin and spring just came apart. The line was to old to re-splice so it joins others in the Lazarette awaiting a second life as a dock or dinghy tow. Looking for a replacement I found this manufacturer http://www.novabraid.com/rope/xle_performer.html On sale at Defender with pre-spliced snap shackle and whipped end. A good buy and it came today --excellent!
