grueling is right

At the last race I did the pre-ride of the 6 mile course - first lap ~42 minutes taking it easy with some of the freshmen. Second lap I pushed fairly hard and did a ~27:30. Could have gone faster in race conditions, but it definitely took a lot of effort. On race day the lead pack of varsity boys did four laps all in the low 25's. At the beginning of the season I could hang with the varsity boys. Now I'm struggling to stay on the back of the pack. Even the freshmen and sophomores are making me work hard. It's definitely motivational when you see these kids getting stronger and having fun.
