Hey Chris,
Where you often have to listen to the same crap in French for 15 minutes... (grin)
Amazing, how many times this summer I'd switch the vhf to WX, and the broadcast in English had just ended, and the one in French was just beginning... Also, the forecasts in Labrador - whenever you could actually hear them - featured the weirdest synthesized voice I've ever heard, virtually unintelligible to my ear...
North of Nain, however, there's no more VHF... If you're lucky, you might catch the CG repeater in Nain announcing the forecast out of St Anthony, NFLD broadcast twice a day on SSB, but that was it... Didn't really matter, as the forecasts up there tended to be pretty worthless, anyway...
Nevertheless, it was nice to get back down within earshot of St Anthony, and eventually hear a forecast whenever you wanted it...
Are you headed for the Bahamas again this winter?
best regards,
Jon
