None are perfect, that's for sure. I've kept a boat where sailing was a North/South-beat-DDW options only, affair, as the immediate sailing waters were a bit narrow. And I've kept a boat where we had to spend an hour or more following a winding channel getting in or out to our sailing area. I've spent time on coasts were all you have was the open ocean out an inlet with no good harbor for miles either way. Your marina/club is the anchorage for most, I take it.
When time is constrained, the above scenarios are tough.
It's too bad you don't have the time to drive a bit to your boat, that could make a big difference. We did that for many years, often driving 5 or 7 hours. But you need time to do that. Hopefully things will improve for you.
