My sock pulls down short of the tack

() and I find it works fine. When I disconnect the sheet I stuff the clew up into the bag so it not flopping around while I bring the sock aft to the mast. I have a cutter rig and have two sets of sheets already to deal with so I set the sock prior to attaching the Aso sheet to the sail. I just dig the clew out of the sock and attach the sheet so I know the lead is right every time.
