24/7/265, get a forwarding service.
When we were out we heard MANY horror stories about friends and relatives failing. Some times due to an error, some times due to negligence or other reasons!
I myself fell to this. When I was working in Iran, I had a relative forwarding my mail. About the 4th or 5th packet, ALL of the items were opened and gone through. I asked to just forward the mail. I thought I was being reasonable in my request and did it as respectful as I could. Turned out I did not get another package for almost a year! When I got back, I had some big bills and WAY BAD credit! seems I owed about $25 to a department store. It was way past collections and now in the hundreds! I would up having to deposit big bucks in the local bank and then borrowing my own money back to just build up a bit of credit again. Of course, this was way before the Internet!
We use St. Brendans and have kept it up even when at our shore side place. Just switch over when we head out. It is required for doing our yearly stuff like tax and documentations and .... We do have them trash junk mail but do not pay the extra for scanning.
We know we will eventually stop at some place for more than a few days, so when we find that place, we fire off an email get the stuff in a day or 3.
