Which you saw along this coast as well. We've spent the day hiking mostly around the village. It's grueling terrain! We're seeing the locals mostly, that live here. It has an isolation similar to an island. Before the train, i can't imagine how remote it was.
No good roads in and none in the village, paths and lanes through an endless maze of cliffs, old buildings and grape vines. Everything gets lugged in by hand. Food, wine, coffee in the few cafe's and restaurants open has been terrific. Feels like you have it to yourself and at 65 degrees, what more would you want?
Such a change from busy rome.
