I guess I spoke too soon or too harshly about chartplotters.

Frankly I am still in paper chart mentality... along with a hand held Garmin to verify lat and lon. Nothing is "automatic" for me.

I do have a nice Garmin for the car that seems to know where all the roads are... but to be honest, I still read the road signs before I exit.
