There's a local place that I've used for upholstery (they re-did an antique couch and did a first-rate job). They also do work for many local antique furniture dealers and they said they'd scarf in some new wood and blend the finish, and they assured me the repair would be practically invisible. Estimate $150. I'll post an image when I get it back.
