Cruising Sailors Forum Archive

We were there when they opened a few years back.

They had a vision that they could "flip" the business quickly. It didn't happen and the cruisers pretty much fell in love with them and what the Breeze offered. I don't think the locals provided the sufficient amount of support when the cruisers weren't there. Additionally, cruisers are too cheap to keep that much infrastructure afloat...in my opinion. It always amazed me that the G-Town crowd would go there in March each year and Mike and Jackie would let them hold a pot luck at the Breeze. A bad decision on both sides. I also suspect the the money guy, who was the third partner in the deal had had enough. For him it was just a money deal. I met him once, but he was not involved with the customers and the daily socialization. They will be greatly missed by the cruisers who got to know them. The Breeze will be missed by a lot of the cruisers as well. I wish them success with their next efforts.
