Depending on who put it in, you should be able to find a dedicated fuse or circuit breaker. Then, you can disable the receptacle or rewire it to turn it back to a dedicated 110v.

Sometimes, though the shouldn't, some idiots just wired these outlets as a non dedicated circuit and fuse/circuit breaker by crossing both branches of the hot. When the happens, you may not be able to find where the made that connection.
