I've upgraded from my trusty 9 year old 13"macbook to a pro macbook 15" with a retina display. Wow! My world has expanded!
For comparison for online photos, these are previously adjusted files(in iphoto) on the old screen posted to flickr, last year. This morning I've reprocessed back to original RAW files - then adjusted again with the aid of the retina display, in iphoto.

This shows how I've adjusted the images to suit my eye on the retina screen vs the old screen. It looks like I've lightened the images slightly more due to the retina screen(?). This is a comparison for me to see the before-after manipulated images, on the two screens, side by side.
The good news is-nothing drastic, I don't see a huge difference in how I've adjusted the images. I'm going to move my current and future photos into Adobe Lightroom and I'm scheduled for a weekend class in using the program.
I think the retina screen is fantastic and I hope to see improved images through using Lightroom this season. The tough part is merging 20k or so images, many RAW files, between computers-software. I'm missing not having a kid in the house...
