Looking at the cabin door, I'd guess it's a 6' array. But you're right about the resolution. Probably not 40 mile - would need more height (as you said) and a lot of power.
Perhaps the A/C unit is to keep the electronics cool...
Seems underpowered - guess he couldn't afford a pair of 250s.
