Some lithium batteries die if you let them freeze. I generally really like my lithium powered tools. One thing I don't like is that they seem to run at full power right up to the end and then just stop. With NiCad batteries you knew when the battery was getting low. Lithium batteries don't give any where near as much indication that they are about done.
