but not really related to the compass type () If you were along at the helm, what do you look and how do you read those items. There is no "normal" magnetic compass (and not real electronic compass -- other than the Apple AP.
Those APs seem problematic to me when I've used them except on a non-bouncing situation where the horizon can be made "constant" and "level".
