At one time I took foul weather sailing classes that only occurred during rough conditions and "small boat advisories." Not quite Gale forecasts... but not exactly the conditions that most would want to go out in...

Funny, but over the years while racing, I have sailed in Gale conditions... "win at all costs..."

Of course we never "called 911" either.
