Time to replace the main and jib halyards. A few years ago bought some Sta-SetX and hated it. The parallel core made it (for me) impossible to splice so I used Buntline hitches. It was like coiling rebar. Took it off the main in lieu of Sta-Set but left on the roller furling jib since it stays up all season anyway. I am looking at Samson XLS but the specifications and descriptions on the Samson site don't really describe the construction. Does anyone know if it is a true braided core and cover? I did see something that says the core is a Dacron and dyneema blend. Warpspeed or some other hi-tech line is not in the budget since I need 1/2" minimum to work with my winches. Thanks for any advice.
