I ordered new halyards for our current boat from the guys at Sailcare in Ford City, PA. I had them do halyards with eye splices for previous boats and found them to be great to work with, relatively inexpensive and decent quality. (I actually don't know who makes the rope they use but it is soft and seems to last as long as we keep our boats). I asked Jerry to do the usual eye splices and he said they don't do eye splices unless the customer's absolutely insist now. He said his rigging guys learned how to do a special knot for halyards from the Beneteau riggers. He called it a blood knot but I think it is a barrel knot?
Anyhow, this will be the second season and it looks great to me!
