The Sea of Cortez, as you know, is great. As you go south it gets even better with many big tuna and Mahi Mahi. Nothing like running under spinnaker and catching a big tuna. Once you go throught canal all the fishing goes away. Enjoy the fishing as much as you can. We caught a big Mahi Mahi motoring into an anchorage in the Pearlas of Panama. He kept trying to go under the boat and we were going around in circles to keep him clear. Their were 3 boats in the anchorage with all on board wondering 'what the hell are they doing'? Needless to say, everyone in the anchorage had sushi that night!

On the other hand, underwater, the snorkeling, reef fish & coral are incredible once you get to the Caribbean. Just not many good eating fish.
