Agree, Explorer charts all the way.
If you have a 6 foot draft don't even trust the depth on the Explorer charts when it says 7 or 8 feet as it might be less. We set our depth transducer with keel depth at -0-. Then we'd look at the tide to see where it is and how far it will drop if we were to anchor for a few days. We'd give ourselves a 6 inch margin, sometimes diving in and moving rocks on the bottom out of the way in case we were to swing. If you don't you'll hear bump, bump half the night. Yeah, you do the math on depth and tides and all you need is 6 inches or even less. If you don't you'll miss a lot of good places.
It was a good practice in the Bahamas.
