Self-furling, removable inner forestay ?

Is there such a thing for an innerstaysail?

Crossing from Norway to Scotland the night before last, we had sustained 28-30 knots on the beam with rising seas. With double reefed main and staysail hanked on the inner forestay the boat was handling it well, but I was debating my next steps should the wind or seas build from there. It would have been a royal PITA to go forward and remove the staysail and hank on the storm jib on the inner forestay. As it happened the wind did not go much above the low 30s and further steps weren't necessary.

But it has made me wonder whether there is such a thing as a furling, removable inner forestay. Any such curler would need to be bulletproof. For the vast majority of my sailing I have the inner forestay removed and out of the way near the mast, and I don't really want to make a permanent inner forestay. The deck is much cleaner without it.

Thanks for any ideas, thought I'd bring this up while its fresh in my mind.

(btw it turned into a PITA to dodge the oil rigs and numerous restricted areas. Knowing we were going to get some heavy weather from the south, I wanted to stay south and make sure we didn't get stuck having to beat into a gale later on. Our course took us over numerous oilfields with a lot of restricted areas that had to be planned for well in advance due to our limited maneuverability in the strong winds and seas)
