I finally got the electronics person to check out my problem.
It was "only" the head unit.
As this is an obsolete model, I needed to go used.
Turns out that he has an old head unit that I am getting for $150.
As he will install it, I sill be sure that it works, rather than depending on EBAY.
Now if I could only find someone to refinish my cabin that cheap, I could be all set:)
